george are bringing their iconic Indie Rock hits to the Zoo Twilights stage in 2017 for a special reunion performance with all original band members, supported by prolific singer-songwriter Felix Riebl.
Celebrating their 21st birthday in 2017, george recently played their first show in over a decade with brother and sister powerhouse Katie Noonan and Tyrone Noonan, Geoff Green, Paulie Bromley and Nick Stewart reuniting. The quintet formed in Brisbane in 1996 and quickly forged a dedicated following across the nation with their captivating live performances. Their first album Polyserena (2002) debuted at #1 on the ARIA Chart, achieving Double Platinum sales and clocking up 6 ARIA nominations before winning Best Breakthrough Artist – Album. Their stunning follow up Unity (2004) was certified Gold, and saw the band take the record on the road before going on hiatus in 2005.
Felix Riebl is one of the country’s most highly accomplished musicians, having found international acclaim with his alternative rock and jazz group The Cat Empire. Admired for his warm and charming solo performances, his latest album Paper Doors (2016) was praised by The Australian for its “impressive range of styles and instrumentation.”
george will play Zoo Twilights in support of Zoos Victoria and their fight to save the Eastern Barred Bandicoot from extinction.
